About Art Room 109
Welcome to Art Room 109, a mobile sensory art studio offering hands-on, process-based art experiences for children, families, and educators. Our Play and Create workshops celebrate the wonder of childhood, providing a space where children can explore, learn, and grow through sensory art play. Each session is about sparking creativity, nurturing fine motor skills, and preserving the magic of childhood—one playful, messy masterpiece at a time. Whether it’s parent-and- toddler sessions, school workshops, or family events, each session is hand crafted with heart, using simple, budget-friendly materials you likely already have at home.
Paint – Dough – Water – Rice – Repeat
We give children the chance to explore high-quality educational toys—like Makedo, Crazy Forts, Connetix and Air Toobz—alongside everyday materials, proving that creative play doesn’t need to be complicated or expensive. Every session is thoughtfully designed with both learning and joy in mind, shaped by Kate’s experience as an artist, teacher and parent.

What Makes Us Unique
I'm Kate, a former secondary school art teacher turned Toddler Waitress, serving up platters of paint and creativity—with a side order of mess! I discovered the transformative power of sensory bins and process art through my own children. These simple activities helped us navigate the challenges of toddlerhood and life's curveballs. Homemade playdough is our thang (and our therapy!) My goal was to create the kind of art class I’d want for my own kids— Through these immersive classes and workshops, I hope to inspire creativity, mindfulness, and emotional resilience in little ones— skills that will help them thrive in today’s fast-paced, digital world

Our mission is to create an inclusive space where children and parents, students and teachers can connect, explore, and develop a love for creativity through process-based art and sensory play. Prioritising imagination over perfection, our mobile art studio brings hands-on, open-ended art experiences to schools, communities, and family events—making art education accessible to all.
